Summer Theme: My Visit to Kenya – how I got it all wrong!

Summer Theme: My Visit to Kenya – how I got it all wrong! From 19th July we will welcome back the Revd Alistair Keil to the pulpit. He will conduct the services when the Minister is on holiday. In 1997 as the Church of Scotland Faithshare Convener Alistair visited the Presbyterian Church of East Africa at its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the relationship between the Church of Scotland and the Presbyterian Church of East Africa. He met with Church leaders there to discuss how we might enable gifted Kenyans to come to Scotland to share some of their enthusiasm for God’s Kingdom and Christ’s Church. The wonderful Kenyan people he came across befriended, supported, fed, sheltered and protected him throughout my ten-day visit. However, during that ten-day visit if a thing could go wrong, it did go wrong, spectacularly! On 19th and 26th July, and 2nd and 9th August, Alistair will share with you his Kenyan mishaps and calamities, reflect on their theological message and show how the Biblical readings for each Sunday relate to this reflection.
