The Guild Coffee Morning:

  
  is on Saturday 13th March from 10.30 a.m. till 12 noon in the Braid Centre..  There will be the usual stalls.  Tickets are £2.00 (50p for children) and will be on sale after the morning service on 28th February and 7th March.  Donations of baking etc. will be very welcome.  
 

Lent Group:

  
  A Group will meet for fellowship and study during Lent for 6 weeks, on Mondays, 10:30-12, in the Session Room at the Braid Centre. Anyone who is interested and would like to come along is very welcome. The material being used this year is linked to the Radio 4 Lent series with CTBI, and will look at some key characters in the Passion narratives and consider issues of today that  resonate with them. First meeting will be on Monday 1st March.  
 

Beetle Drive:

  
  Saturday 27th March at 7pm in the Upper Hall, Cluny Centre in support of the Edinburgh Clothing Store. Tickets available from Fiona Stimpson or members of the Outreach Group.  Adults £5, children £2.50.  Refreshments will be on sale and there will be small prizes for the adult and child winners.  Please come along, bring your friends and give the Edinburgh Clothing Store your support.  
 

Living the Questions:

  
  The next session will be on Wednesday, 17th March, 7.30pm in the Cluny Centre.  
 

Come and Sing" Stainer's "Crucifixion

  
   - at St. Mary's Parish Church, Haddington, on Sunday, 28th March, 2010; rehearsal 3-6pm., performance at 7pm.  Proceeds to M. E. Research and St. Mary's Parish Church. For further details, contact Felicity Hare - 01620 822938.  
 

Olivet to Calvary

  
 

at Palmerston Place Church: On Sunday 28th March at 6.30pm.  Anyone wishing to join with the choir to sing J H Maunder’s Lenten cantata would be very welcome.  The choir will be directed by Andrew Caskie and accompanied on the organ by John Kitchen. Lesson Reading June 2009 – May 2010

The following is the proposed rota for reading the lesson on Sunday.   You are asked to contact the Church Office or the Minister, at the end of the week prior to your reading, in order to find out details of the passage to be read.  For those who would like a practice, the Minister and Tom Davidson have kindly agreed to offer advice.

Please make a note of your reading dates.  If you are not able to attend on the day, please arrange for your own substitute from the list below, and notify the Church Office (447 6745) of the change.

Please also note that you should come forward ready to read the lesson during the last verse of the previous hymn (assuming a hymn immediately precedes) but be sure to allow time for the congregation to settle back in their seats before commencing. It has also been agreed that the page number should not be read out as the information is of course available in the Order of Service.

·         if you need to change, please get a replacement yourself.

·         A copy of the Rota will be pinned up on the board in the vestibule in Church.

·         Please note who is on duty and names of children in the Crèche Record Book.

This book also has a copy of the Rota on the back page.

·         Please try to be at the crèche by 10:50 if you are on duty, and wait till 11:10 for any latecomers before deciding no one is coming.

·         If there is a baptism, wait till the party comes out (around 11:20).

·         There will be leaders sitting in the front rows in church, with whom your child (if older) can sit during the period Sunday School children are in church.
